Section 3: How can the Internet be used in my classroom?
The Internet can be used in several ways in your classroom. The Internet
is not only informative, but the multimedia type presentation of the WWW
makes acquiring the available information easy and interesting. The following
are some ways you can use the Internet in your K-12 classroom:
- Searching for information - Internet browsers, such as Netscape Navigator
make finding information about a specified topic easier to find by using
search engines;
- Communicating with students, teachers, mentors, parents, instructors,
and friends via electronic mail;
- Newsgroups allow us to read news about specified topics;
- Listservs are an easy way to communicate with others on a common topic;
- Computational modeling and compiling programs.
